This is a story about my struggles after returning from my exchange program, during a time when I found myself homeless.
Before heading to Poland, I had been squatting at Mr Levi’s place. When I got back, I decided not to return there—not for any particular reason, but simply because I wanted to find an apartment of my own. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen right away. Just a day or two before my trip, I met a wonderful guy named Caleb at an eatery. We hit it off and kept in touch throughout my stay in Poland. I’d like to think God used him to keep me company during a very lonely time. I even considered dating him—just a little temptation, you know?
Upon my return, I told Caleb I would stay with him for a bit while I searched for an apartment, and he graciously agreed. God bless his kind soul! One Sunday at church, I casually mentioned to David that I was looking for a place to stay. He immediately took me to meet Mr. Daniel in Choir.
When I arrived, I couldn’t believe my eyes—a furnished studio apartment right in the city center! I had always admired that building from a distance, wondering how fortunate the people living there must be. And now, here I was, actually living there—alone, with no roommate! I had prayed to God for this, and He listened.
The apartment was previously used as an Airbnb, and Mr. Daniel agreed to lease it to me for six months. Fast forward almost two years later, and he kept saying he doesn’t know how to ask me to leave! Isn’t that just like God? The location is perfect—one straight bus ride to my school, my church, and even my internship hospital as I write this.
Let’s echo what Leah always says: “Mide, you are graced!”
